S12: FROM SCHOOLBOY TO NURSE TO LECTURER TO COUNSELLOR: AN AUTO ETHNOGRAPHY OF DECONSTRUCTIONS AND RECONSTRUCTIONS OF THE SELF AS A LEARNER – NEIL SUMMERS

This study explores the constructs of self and how learning has been influenced over a lifespan. Autoethnographic narrative methods were used to explore key learning experiences using a timeline to trace significant occurrences that influenced learning over a lifespan.

This story telling method is used to illuminate and build historical narratives to challenge and shape past and contemporary western neo-liberal orthodoxies.
