There are many methodologies for qualitative studies, and it is often difficult to decide which approach to adopt. Grounded theory is one of the most complex and yet most rewarding methods. This presentation will summarise the three main approaches to grounded theory, give an overview of its advantages and pitfalls and, finally provide an example of its use in practice. Further reading will also be provided.
