This session is an introduction to “exploratory practice” (Allwright & Hanks, 2009) also referred to as “inclusive practitioner research” which starts from the premise that  “[t]he first two parties for research on education are the teachers and the learners” (p. 145). Exploratory practice attempts to bridge the teacher-researcher gap by focusing primarily on teachers, by trying to make teaching more interesting for teachers, and by emphasising principles over practice.
