VANGELA VASCONCELOS – SOCIOLINGUISTIC EDUCATION AND MULTIPLE LITERACIES FOR RURAL EDUCATORS TRAINING IN BRAZIL: A NEW PERSPECTIVE

My PhD research is on academic literacy practices and interaction frameworks of rural undergraduate students. The objective is to reflect on sociolinguistic education and multiple literacies for the training of rural educators and to contribute to teacher training based on collaborative actions developed in the academy and in rural communities. The initial results show the importance of academic non-canonical discursive genres and extension activities in the training of rural educators as tools of empowerment and fight for their rights.
