This talk is based on my current PhD project on the discursive construction of leadership in a German start-up team. It examines leadership construction in decision-making by analysing an exchange regarding the delivery method choice for a business card order. Particular focus will be placed on participants’ intersubjective positioning on an epistemic (i.e. how knowledge is claimed and contested) and deontic level (i.e. how future action is declared) during the production of proposals and assessments.
